The Liebig Company produced Meat Extract used to add meat flavour
in cooking. As a form of advertising they started to issue lithographic cards &
chromos. Most cards were issued in sets of six. The themes on the cards vary
greatly. As the first sets were issued in the 19th century and the
last sets in 1975. There is a whole range of themes available. The company also
issued their cards in multiple languages, so the same sets exist in different
language from Russian to Dutch.
